The board organized a Goose Committee, divided into two subcommittees: Prevention, which was the information-gathering arm, and Eradication, which aimed to take action. As usual, however, as soon as they were in a group they were incapable of rendering an intelligent verdict. They had one joint committee meeting to select a steering committee, and then got drunk in the course of discussing the comparable worth of Canada geese and spotted owls.
